Police on Tuesday claimed to have foiled a rifle-snatching bid by the militants in Down Town of Srinagar city. SSP Srinagar Imtiaz Ismail Parray told said that militants approached police guard at Hawal guarding the Mirza Kamil Shrine with an intention to loot weapons.
“However, the alert sentry fired some shots forcing the militants to flee,” he said, adding the area has been cordoned off to nab the attackers.
